Hobart, WI: A Young Village Growing Fast, West of Green Bay

Hobart is one of the newer villages in the Green Bay area – incorporated in 2002 – and it’s grown faster than almost anywhere else in Brown County since. We work this market regularly, and here’s what we tell buyers and sellers who ask us about it.

Why Buyers Are Choosing Hobart

  • Fast, sustained growth: population has roughly doubled every decade — 5,090 in 2000, 6,182 in 2010, 10,211 at the 2020 Census, and an estimated 10,905 as of early 2024 (Village of Hobart / U.S. Census Bureau).
  • Still a relatively young village: Hobart incorporated from the Town of Hobart in 2002, so a lot of its residential development is genuinely newer construction.
  • Investment in new recreation space: beyond the existing Four Seasons Park, the village has plans in progress for seven additional parks.
  • A straightforward commute: about 10 miles and roughly 17 minutes to Green Bay via WI-32, with Highway 29 and County Trunk FF providing additional routes toward Green Bay and Howard.

Hobart Real Estate Market

As of November 2025, Redfin put the median sale price in Hobart at $430,000, down slightly (1.1%) from the year before, while the price per square foot was up sharply – about $206, a 17% year-over-year increase. Homes were selling in about 36 days on average, and Redfin rates the market “somewhat competitive.”

Schools

Hobart is split between two districts: the western part of the village is generally served by the West De Pere School District, while the eastern part falls under the Pulaski Community School District. As with our other Green Bay-area pages, we always confirm the exact zoned school for a specific address rather than assuming based on the village name alone.

A Note on Location

Hobart sits entirely within the treaty boundaries of the Oneida Nation of Wisconsin, and the village has a significant Oneida Nation presence and history. For buyers, the practical takeaway is that land status can vary parcel to parcel depending on tribal trust designation – worth a quick conversation with us or your closing attorney for any specific property, the same way we’d flag a school-boundary or easement question.

Parks & Recreation

  • Four Seasons Park: a 40-acre park in northern Hobart, open since 1999, with a heated shelter (with kitchen), two soccer/lacrosse fields, a playground, a one-mile walking trail, and pickleball courts added in 2025.
  • More parks coming: the village has announced plans for seven additional parks as part of its ongoing growth.

Getting Around
